INFO Nepal a local not profit volunteer Organization sends international volunteers in our rural community Health Post to assist the health worker.This is an exchange program where you will be learning and teaching as well. Volunteers can go at any time, for as long as they wish. Our most popular programs include: medical and nursing placements,Helath and Sanitation awareness,Tooth bruch and hand washing,Teaching health at School or in the community clubs and Working with women health worker of the village.Volunteer will be staying with our Host Family.
INFO Nepal's health post program provides a wide variety of experiences depending on the time of year. While at your placement, volunteers may be
doing very hands-on work such as giving shots and treating wounds; conducting home-visits; developing and delivering information on health issues such as birth control and personal hygiene; providing office support; and providing knowledge transfer to the health post doctors on the latest first aid techniques.Volunteers usually work approximately two to four hours a day in the health post, supplemented by teaching health education classes at a local government school or women's group. Prior to your placement at the health post, volunteers will receive two weeks of Nepali language and cultural training. During their placement, volunteers will stay with a local Nepali family located within a half-hour to an hour from the post. An INFO Nepal local co-ordinator will be available to help volunteers.
